Ballet for adults - General level
Sundays 11:00am-12:30pm, Fridays 6:30pm-8:00pm
If you have taken ballet lessons in the past and would like to take it up again then this is the right class for you.
Each class consists of barre and centre work. The class begins with barre exercises which, while warming up the body, help you improve posture and develop strength and mobility.
The centre work builds on the exercises done at the barre and it takes you from simple steps onto more challenging ones including leaps and travelling combinations.
While the classes will be challenging, special care will be taken not to ask too much from a body that has been out of ballet practise for years.
Ballet, if practised correctly, is a great way of keeping fit, improving posture and of maintaining a healthy body and mind.
Wear something comfortable which will allow you freedom of movement. If you don't have ballet shoes at the moment, you can wear socks.
The Sunday class is a "private class". You do not need to pay Danceworks membership to attend it.
Private classes give you the advantage of even greater attention to detail, as the classes tend to be smaller - places are strictly limited.
